Hi, I’m Litzie,
I help adults who grew up with emotionally unavailable parents, stop abandoning themselves, and finally feel at home in who they are.
My Journey
There is a version of me that looked, from the outside, like she had it together.
She was responsible. Capable. The one who figured things out on her own and never wanted to make things harder for anyone else.
Inside, it was a different story.
For years, I lived with chronic depression that I couldn't fully explain and couldn't seem to think my way out of. I understood myself. I could name what I was feeling. And yet something stayed stuck, something quiet and persistent that no amount of insight seemed to reach.
I know that gap well. The one between knowing and actually living differently. That gap is part of why I became a therapist, and part of why I work the way I do.
My own healing didn't come from talk therapy alone. It came when I started working at a deeper level, with the parts of me that had been carrying old pain long past the moment it was useful. It came when I stopped trying to think my way through things and started letting my body and my nervous system be part of the process.
That experience changed everything about how I show up for clients.
My Approach
I am a licensed therapist based in Atlanta, GA, with dual licensure in Georgia and North Carolina. I see clients in person in Decatur and via telehealth throughout both states.
I am not interested in reducing you to a diagnosis or handing you a framework to slot yourself into. I am interested in you, the whole person, the brilliant strategies you developed to survive, and the life that becomes possible when you don't need those strategies anymore.
I meet clients exactly where they are. We go at the pace your nervous system needs.
On the days you don't believe healing is possible, I will hold that belief for you until you can hold it yourself.
I work with adults who grew up carrying more than they should have had to carry, often without anyone around to notice. People who became very good at being fine. Who learned early to put everyone else first and to ask for very little.
People who are exhausted by that, even if they don't quite have the words for why.
You are not broken. You are not too much. You just haven't had the right kind of help yet.
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.”
